DOMINUS Industries is target focused for the application of non intrusive Autonomous Advisory Systems (AAS) that interfaces directly to field proven, legacy Distributed Control Systems (DCS) without disrupting existing infrastructure or loop safety.
These applications are the first step toward the larger goal of Dominus: autonomous operations that unify a plant’s tribal knowledge and siloed systems to find the best answer in every critical operating decision.
Per Ken Ma, Founder and CEO, “Refineries and petrochemical plants lose billions annually to unplanned downtime. Legacy process engineers understand the chemistry but don’t have the experience or background to build modern AI architecture. Meanwhile, software startups are building cloud based AI models that plant cybersecurity teams reject due to catastrophic safety and liability risks.
“Dominus resolves this tension. Our Autonomous Advisory System resides entirely on premises via a standalone RAG Workstation at the Level 3.5 iDMZ. By utilizing a rigid, read only data diode to ingest multivariable tag data from the distributed control system’s Level 3 OPC server, we deliver real time operational insights to board operators without introducing a single safety risk or cyber threat vector.”
The Dominus Edge: Per Ken Ma, “Bridging chemical engineering and AI is the necessary edge, and our reason for winning is betting on on premises, offline models that secure both plant safety and advanced AI.”
By marrying generative intelligence with deterministic physics equations, Dominus delivers what we classify as Premium Rationalized Intelligence (PRI), a safe, low risk, and highly reliable software on ramp that plant operators can confidently adopt in their existing operations.
The operator interfaces to a multi discrete NVIDIA GPU Workstation via two dedicated 27 inch touchscreen monitors placed side by side with the native DCS consoles. Operators interact with the advice inside a secure, full screen kiosk web browser completely isolated from corporate networks.
As an example, when a board operator queries the system or a level instability begins to drift, the software layers execute a coordinated data handshake, the AAS captures 1 second interval tags, uses real time data to solve process and dynamic mass and energy balances, and calculates unmeasured internal states. Instead of a generic alert, the operator receives a highly specific, multi part advisory notice.
With Dominus AAS On Premises RAG workstation and Operational Copilot, the future has arrived.
Dominus Industries is currently headquartered in Atlanta but will relocate to Houston in early 2027.
